Family fun day

Stella Maris Catholic Primary School, Innisfail Drive, Point Cook, will host its annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, February 23, from 10am-4pm – and everyone’s invited. There will be food trucks, entertainment, market stalls, a sideshow alley, animal farm, carnival rides, rock climbing wall, showbags and face-painting. Funds raised go to improving the school facilities.

Barefoot bowls and barbecue

A party to raise funds for equipment for Werribee Mercy Hospital’s Special Care Nursery will be held on Friday, March 22, from 6-10pm at Werribee Bowls Club, 239 Watton Street. Tickets cost $20 and are available for pre-purchase or can be purchased on the night. Kids free.

Meet the author

The Plaza Library will host Australia’s queen of true crime, Robin Bowles, to discuss her latest book, Death on the Derwent. The free event will be held on Friday, March 15, between 6.30-7.30pm.

Art classes

Tap into your creative side and learn more about drawing, watercolour painting and portraiture at weekly art classes held every Saturday during the school term at the Point Cook Community Learning Centre, 1-21 Cheetham Street, Point Cook. Kids classes are held between 9.15-10.15am; adults between 10.30-11.30am. Classes cost $15.

Join the choir

Join Bridge Community Choir as it starts to prepare new songs for the coming year’s performances, with the first show in April. The all-ages, all-abilities choir meets weekly at the Werribee Baptist Church (opposite Werribee Pacific Plaza) on Mondays from 7.30-9pm.

Volunteers wanted

Mercy Palliative Care is looking for volunteers to support clients and carers in their homes, including being with someone while their carer goes out, providing companionship, taking clients for a drive or to an appointment, patient biographies,
dog walking and making bereavement phone calls. Full training and support will be given.
