Police were called to Hoppers Crossing last night, following reports of gunshots about 8.30pm.
Police attended a Wilmington Avenue property and arrested a man as he attempted to leave the address about 9.50pm.
Police located and seized a firearm at the dwelling.
The 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man remains in custody assisting police with their inquiries.
No other injuries have been reported to police.
