Boy arrested after Wyndham Vale assault, robbery

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to an alleged robbery and assault in Wyndham Vale last month.

The boy was arrested while police carried out a search warrant at an address on Turpentine Road, Brookfield about 7.30am on Saturday.

Detectives have charged the boy with one count of robbery, one count of assault, one count of theft and committing an indictable offence while on bail. The boy has been remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The charges relate to an incident at a Wyndham Vale bus stop where two boys, aged 14 and 17, were allegedly assaulted and one robbed on Sunday, January 27.

On the weekend, a second teen was also been interviewed following the alleged assault and robbery.

The 15-year-old boy, from Werribee, presented himself to a police station on Sunday.

He was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.
