Sports hub plan for Point Cook

By Joanna Catalano

Wyndham council has endorsed a draft master plan for Bensonhurst Parade Reserve in Point Cook.

The council’s sports development portfolio holder, Cr Peter Maynard, said the draft plan has been prepared to guide the potential future development of the reserve.

“The Bensonhurst Parade Reserve has the potential to be one of the most loved sporting hubs in Wyndham,” he said.

“The draft master plan lays out a vision for it that includes four soccer fields, three cricket fields, four tennis courts with lighting, four cricket nets and a pavilion that can be used by multiple sports clubs.”

The draft master plan will be placed on public exhibition until Friday, January 25.

“It’s exciting to see this project get to this stage and I encourage everyone to check out the draft master plan and have their say on it,” Cr Maynard said.

“The Bensonhurst Parade Reserve is set to be a home for a range of different sports that will support diverse opportunities for people of different ages, genders, cultures and abilities.”

The Draft Bensonhurst Parade Reserve Point Cook Master Plan can be viewed on council’s online engagement platform, The Loop, by visiting www.theloop.wyndham.vic.gov.au
