Chance to get face-to-face with Werribee zoo’s gorillas

Take your children for a walk on the wild side and gain some insights into gorillas at Werribee Open Range Zoo this school holidays.

As part of Gorilla Rangers on Patrol, children will head into the grounds with a ranger, trek through different habitat, take part in missions, storytelling and dress-ups and come face-to-face with the zoo’s own gorilla family members, Motaba, Yakini and Ganyeka.

Three-year-old-twins Abel and Spencer, and 9-year-old Nathaniel, road-tested the program last week and gave it a big thumbs up.

By recycling your old mobile phones at the zoo you can also raise money for a team of veterinarians fighting the extinction of gorillas in Africa.
