Celebrate Wyndham’s cultural diversity at Werribee Racecourse this Saturday, as part of multicultural race day. There will be live performances, fashion parades, food stalls and children’s activities. It’s on from 11.00am-5.30pm.

Comedy festival

Be prepared for laughs aplenty when the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow arrives in Wyndham on April 25. Comedians Bob Franklin, Tom Ballard, Greg Behrendt and David Quick will be among those taking to the stage at the Wyndham Cultural Centre as part of the nationwide tour. It’s on from 8pm. Tickets cost $33 for adults, $19 for under 25s and $15 for school children. Concession card holders and groups of 10 or more can book tickets for $25.

Remember the sixties

Go on a journey to the swinging sixties when The Fabulous Singlettes hit the stage at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on April 10. The show combines impeccable harmonies, outrageous humour and glamorous fashion in a celebration of a decade that changed the world. Covering the great girl groups of the era and supported by a four-piece band, the show will take you on a journey through the music and fashion of the sixties, with several costume and hair-do changes, culminating in a blistering finale. Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for under 25s and $15 for students.

Horticulturist Craig Castree will be at Werribee Park heritage orchard at K Road, Werribee South, on Friday from 9.45am to give hints on grafting, pruning and fungal control. Bring a hat, sunscreen and secateurs labelled with your name. Enter by gate 2 and follow the signs.

If it needs to be screwed, glued, nailed or welded, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday of the month. It’s free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit in a car, call James. From 10am-noon at the shed at Wyndham Park Community Centre, 55-57 Kookaburra Avenue, Werribee.
