Drumming up some fun at Werribee zoo

Kofi Kunkpe, of African Star Dance & Drumming Company, was part of the fun and colour at Werribee Open Range Zoo last Thursday as more than 1000 newly arrived migrants and refugees from around the world came together to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week.

Organised by City West Water, the get-together included a tour of the zoo before a performance by the African dance and drum group.

City West Water managing director Anne Barker said the event, now in its seventh year, allowed many newly arrived residents to enjoy a day out while getting to know each other and the representatives of emergency services such as police, firefighters and paramedics.
