Baseball success for school

Pupils from a Hoppers Crossing school have made it to the regional finals of a School Sports Victoria baseball competition.

Earlier this month, children from Woodville Primary School travelled to Williamstown to play in the competition’s Wyndham division finals.

Both the boys/mixed and girls teams, which were led by their captains Taw Doh Htoo and Tong Ye, were undefeated on the day.

Sport teachers James Tsonis and Wayne McBride said the two teams “played hard and demonstrated great teamwork”.

The most valuable player award for each team on the day went to Caleb Singh for the boys/mixed team and Carolina Cook for the girls’ team.

The baseball teams will now play in the Western Metropolitan Regional finals on October 30 in East Belmont.
