Not-for-profit groups in Truganina, Tarneit and some surrounding areas are being encouraged to apply for financial grants from the new Westbrook Community Fund.
Applications are being accepted by groups within the 3027 and 3029 postcodes eligible for grants of either $500 or $1000 to support their causes.
The Westbrook Community Fund is one of many community funds established by the Dennis Family Corporation across a number of its residential estates. Collectively, the funds have given away $600,000 in grants since introduced in 2002.
Dennis Family chief executive Peter Levinge said the company wanted to support areas where it had key developments.
“The annual community fund concept was introduced as a practical way of ensuring that the money we provide goes directly into the hands of local groups whose applications for grants are approved,” Mr Levinge said.
“Every year we allocate funding to assist a wide range of special activities and community programs, helping people of all ages.
“Over the years, we’ve provided grants to many different organisations to help make their projects possible.”
Applications close at 5pm on October 26. Go to westbrookestate.com.au/community-fund for more information and to apply.
