Not-for-profit charity group Arts Assist is seeking community support to help transform the heritage water tower in Werribee into a giant work of art.
The group has submitted its plans to paint the disused Tower Road tower to the state government’s Pick My Project grants program.
Arts Assist has partnered with Southern Rural Water for the venture, which would transform the 18.5 metre-tall tower into a large mural.
The concrete water tower, which was built in 1913, would be painted with a mural depicting a theme of historical significance to Wyndham.
The estimated cost of the project is $146,055.
Arts Assist has appealed for Wyndham residents to vote for the tower mural in the Pick My Project grants program to receive funding.
Voting for Pick My Project will close on Monday, September 17 at 5pm. See pickmyproject.vic.
