Secondhand book sale

The Werribee Ladies for Kids Auxiliary, which raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital, is holding a secondhand book sale on August 18-19 from 8am at 64 Evrah Drive, Hoppers Crossing. The books will be $2 each or six for $10.

Wyndham Learning Festival

Try your hand at cooking classes, arts and crafts, a digital photography bus tour, Wayapa workshops, karate classes, hip hop for boys, a young scientist competition or Rhyme Time at the Zoo, during the Wyndham Learning Festival, which will run between September 1-8. Now in its third year, the festival program features more than 100 events to be held across Wyndham, with each encouraging residents to learn something new.

Lombard Alive

U3A Point Cook is running a gardening short course at Jamieson Way Community Centre, 59 Jamieson Way, every Friday between noon-2pm from September 7 to December 7. Learn how to grow luscious vegies and plants this spring.

Art Exhibition

The Werribee District Historical Society is holding an exhibition of the work of the late Esther Murray, Werribee artist and historian, at the Werribee Museum, 49 Watton Street. Open every Saturday from 10am-1pm and every Tuesday from 10am-3pm until the end of September.

Wyndham Vale parkrun

Wyndham Vale parkrun is a free weekly 5km timed run, jog or walk every Saturday from 7.45am, starting from Presidents Park, McGrath Road, Gate 3, Wyndham Vale. Register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first parkrun event.

Pet and animal expo

Wyndham city’s annual Pet and Animal Expo will be back on September 16 from 10am-3pm at Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee. The event includes obedience displays and educational demonstrations, products and services for pets and their owners, pet displays, popular children’s activities and a variety of food trucks.
