Police appeal for witnesses to road rage incident

Police are calling for witnesses to a road rage incident along the Princes Freeway last week where a driver swerved her car into the path of another before throwing an object at the car.

Werribee crime investigation unit detectives believe the driver of a blue Subaru Impreza sedan was driving erratically down the Princes Freeway, Geelong-bound, about 1.20pm on May 22 when it swerved into the path of a black Hyundai Accent sedan near the Hoppers Crossing exit.

The driver of the Subaru later threw a pink object at the Hyundai, causing damage to the vehicle. The Subaru driver then continued on towards Geelong.

Detective Sergeant Dennis Williams from the Werribee CIU said prior to the incident, the driver of the Subaru had been driving at speed erratically, darting in and out of lanes and cutting other vehicles off.

“The driver of the Hyundai sedan was quite shaken by the incident, it could have been a whole lot more catastrophic,” he said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Anyone with information can call Detective Sergeant Williams on 9742 9498.
