Do you have knee pain?
If you are aged over 50 and have had knee pain on most days of the past month, you may be eligible to take part in a new research study conducted by the department of physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. The study compares the effects of different types of footwear on knee pain symptoms. Participants will be asked to wear study shoes daily for six months. If eligible, you will receive two pairs of shoes for free.

Free bicycle classes for women
Accredited bicycle trainers are running free bike riding classes for women on Friday afternoons from 12.30-3pm until June 22 at the Werribee Men’s Shed, rear of 55- 57a Kookaburra Avenue. Bicycles, helmets and high energy snacks supplied. Please wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing.

Winter Street Party
See the city light up after dark, with light installations, street performers, children’s activities and winter treats from city traders on June 29 from 4-9pm. This year’s program will bring a touch of magic across Station Place, Watton Street, Wedge Street Piazza and the Wyndham Cultural Centre.

Girls on the green
Ladies, head down to Werribee Bowls Club, 239 Watton Street, Werribee, on June 3 from noon-3pm and give lawn bowls a go. Play with either bare feet or flat shoes. Experienced bowlers will be on hand to provide the basics. Cost is $10 for bowls and a barbecue lunch.
