Ruchi Lal believes the benefits of salt therapy cannot be overstated.
The Point Cook resident, who took over the Werribee Salts of the Earth franchise in October last year, said the natural remedy was safe for all age groups and could alleviate a range of symptoms, including congestion, respiratory and skin conditions, sleep issues, anxiety, joint and muscle recovery.
The Watton Street business provides salt room therapy via a halogenerator that grinds pharmaceutical-grade salt into minute breathable particles and disperses these particles into the salt room.
“Salt therapy is a very new concept in Australia, and it’s still very unfamiliar to most people,” Ms Lal said.
“The therapy is 100 per cent natural, it’s safe.”
Ms Lal, who has a teaching background, said she had been looking for a change in career when the opportunity arose, and has enjoyed learning the ins and outs of running a business.
She is considering opening up a second store in Point Cook.
Ms Lal has nominated Salts of the Earth for the personal services category in this year’s Wyndham Business Awards.
