Fire damages Pacific Werribee shops

An electrical fire has been blamed for the closure of two clothing stores at Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre last week.

Pacific Werribee security and CFA firefighters responded to a small electrical fire in the Cotton On store about 10pm on Saturday, March 10.

Centre manager Patricia Gardiner said the Cotton On store and neighbouring Lorna Jane tenancy received water damage, resulting in both stores being closed to the public early last week.

Ms Gardiner said Lorna Jane re-opened its doors last Tuesday.

“Cotton On … will re-open in the coming weeks,” she said.

A third Pacific Werribee premises, Billy’s Place, remains closed until further notice.

“The Billy’s Place tenancy closure is a commercial matter,” Ms Gardiner said.
