A timeless treat: 3 Valley Mews, Wyndham Vale, 3024

In a prized spot in Wyndham Green estate, this quietly elegant family residence is opposite Lollipop Creek Reserve’s waterway and parklands and no more than a five-minute car trip from the station and Manor Lakes shopping centre and college.

Perched on about 1220 square metres, the light-filled, north-facing house has a Federation-inspired facade but inside it’s all about streamlined timelessness, a restful colour palette and timber blinds that match architraves and skirting boards.

Entry under a fretworked verandah is to a spacious carpeted lounge-dining room, the space for adult retreat when entertaining or the kids are in full roar in the rumpus room at the back.

Bringing the living zone count to three, there’s a part-carpeted, part-tiled family-meals area which adjoins the kitchen. This has a stack of timber cabinetry, an island brekkie bench topped with white laminate (matching the splashback tiles), a wall oven, gas cooktop and dishwasher.

Four fitted bedrooms run down the right-hand side of the house, the main off the lounge room. This has three built-in robes and an en suite.

Out back, there’s a gabled pergola. This is a nice area to pull up a pew and relax with friends – if you can keep them from exploring the lovely gardens that feature verdant lawns, dense shrubbery and pretty rock-edged beds.

Finishing touches include ducted heating and evaporative cooling, plus a double garage with internal access.
