Werribee buzz into grand final

Werribee is the first team through to the Bowls Victoria midweek premier division grand final.

The Bees shocked minor premiers Clayton in winning the qualifying final 68-61 and earning a week off before the March 20 season decider. Clayton had only lost once in the regular season.

The Bees, led by skips Patricia Forder, Lyn Milledge and Judy Brown, claimed two of the three rinks, as well as the overall score.

In Saturday pennant, Hoppers’ season has come to a close on the first weekend of the division 2 finals. Hoppers went down 81-67 to Flemington-Kensington in the sectional semi-finals on Saturday.

In division 5, Point Cook Village had a mixed weekend, comfortably accounting for Mount Cottrell in the sectional semi with a 74-56 win on Saturday, but going down to Palm Lake in the sectional final 88-70 on Sunday.
