Police hunt for driver

Police are searching for the driver of a blue Hyundai hatchback after a series of collisions in Werribee yesterday.

The hatchback, bearing stolen registration plates reading OMS 850, came to the attention of police after it allegedly struck a power pole on McGrath Road about 12.20pm.

When police approached the vehicle, the driver took off erratically along Heaths Road. Police gave chase but called off the pursuit because of safety concerns.

Shortly afterwards, the Hyundai was allegedly involved in a minor collision with another vehicle at the corner of Tarneit and Hogans roads. No one was injured in the collision.

Police are hoping to locate the Hyundai and its driver and have urged any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
