Knife held to woman’s neck in Wyndham Vale armed robbery

By Joe Hinchliffe

Three hooded and armed robbers held a knife to the neck of an employee at a Wyndham Vale supermarket before fleeing with cash and cigarettes on Sunday night.

Paramedics treated one worker at the scene after the woman in her 50s received a laceration to her hand during the hold up.

The trio wore hooded jumpers and gloves when they stormed into the Wyndham Vale IGA on Honour Avenue at about 9.30pm on Sunday.

Radio station 3AW is reporting the men brandished a long-blade knife and threatened staff.

The injured worker was not taken to hospital.

A police spokeswoman said on Monday morning investigators would be reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.

But police are urging anyone with any information or dash-cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
