Police arrested a Wyndham Vale man after he was allegedly detected driving at speeds of up to 200km/h in an 80km/h zone in Werribee last night.
The police air wing, marked and unmarked police cars tracked the 34-year-old driver for a short distance along the Princes Highway before he was intercepted.
Police said the vehicle the man was driving was allegedly stolen and contained a trafficable quantity of drugs.
The driver, who was wanted on multiple warrants, was charged with traffic and other offences.
The detection was part of Operation Furlong, a statewide road blitz across the Melbourne Cup Carnival aimed at reducing road trauma.
