Short film competition to showcase Wyndham tourist destinations

Are you handy with a smartphone and love Wyndham’s beautiful parks, beaches and foodie hot spots?

The Werribee Visitor and Information Centre is running a short film competition, with filmmakers asked to put together a 90-second video showcasing the best places to visit in Wyndham.

Wyndham council tourism and major event portfolio holder Cr John Gibbons said the winning video may also be used to inspire visitors to the Werribee Visitor Information Centre, and shared on the council’s social media platforms. The best videos will share in more than $2500 in prizes.

“We have so many amazing and diverse attractions here in Wyndham, whether it’s Werribee Park Mansion, the Werribee Open Range Zoo, the RAAF Museum, or the Werribee South Beach, or maybe even the Werribee River or the Cheetham Wetlands, there’s something for everybody,” Cr Gibbons said.

“We want to celebrate that by encouraging filmmakers of all abilities to snap their favourite spots across our city and submit a 90-second video to go into the draw for one of our prizes.”

The winner will receive a JB Hi-Fi voucher valued at $1800, and the runner-up an $800 voucher. Submissions open Monday, October 16 and close Thursday, November 30.
