I’m New Here: Food, wine, music make a great day out

Whether you’re a newcomer or not, Shadowfax Wines’ lavish music, food and wine event I’m New Here is bound to impress.

Foodies and music and wine aficionados are set to flock to Werribee Park on Sunday to watch sets by some of Australia’s biggest emerging acts, including Lanks, Ngaiire, The Harpoons, Animaux, Passerine, Vince Peach, and Femi.

The music will harp back to former soul, funk, disco and R&B eras, but the talent will re-engineer their beats with contemporary versions. In fact, the inaugural day at the vineyard will have something old and something new for everyone.

The creator of the world’s longest-running soul show, DJ Vince Peach says he’s thrilled to be taking part as one of the seven hand-picked acts.

“Shadowfax is one of my favourite places to visit on weekends with my friends, and to be involved in an event that celebrates everything new in music, food and wine, is a unique opportunity,” he says.

Peach’s Soul Time runs on 106.7PBS and plays a mixture of northern soul, Motown and similar styles, from the Sixties to now.

I’m New Here will also celebrate the new vintage coming off the vines, with an array of dishes including wood-fired pizzas, pork sliders with slaw, and salt-and-pepper calamari.

Shadowfax’s winemaker, Matt Harrop, is eager to see what the vineyards will deliver this vintage and will also release some long-awaited wines.
