Wyndham’s criminal investigation unit is on the hunt for a number of teens in relation to an alleged brawl at Pacific Werribee last month.
Acting Inspector Peter Bitton said police were reviewing CCTV footage of the brawl, which broke out between a group of 13 teens of Pacific Islander appearance and two other males outside the Urban Diner precinct about 5.30pm on July 17.
A 17-year-old male had his bag taken from him during the fight and sustained a broken nose and bruising to his face.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with affray, intentionally causing injury, two counts of unlawful assault and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He has been remanded in custody.
Acting Inspector Bitton said police were still investigating and were looking to speak with a number of people in relation to the incident.
He said although the fight seemed to be an isolated incident for the shopping centre, the community safety team has been deployed to conduct regular foot patrols around Pacific Werribee.
“That sort of behaviour – that public fighting – won’t be tolerated, and they’re serious offences,” he said. “It’s not something we’re going to ignore.”
