Pacific Werribee’s transformation complete

The fourth and final stage of Pacific Werribee’s $400 million expansion is set to launch in weeks, with the official opening of a new fresh food precinct.

After three years of development, the official June 24 opening will celebrate the addition of new specialty shops, ALDI, Pretty’s Prime Butchers and Marketplace, a 1000 square metre store selling fruit, vegetable, deli and grocery items, to the shopping centre.

Other new stores to open include Salaam Namaste, the French Baguette Cafe, Direct Organics, Sweet Box, Fish Pier, Ajisen Raman and Sushi Sushi.

The new precinct will also be home to Toys R Us, a Priceline pharmacy and Daiso.

Pacific Centre’s chief operating officer Daniel Radle said the new fresh food precinct had created 150 jobs.

The centre’s ALDI store is scheduled to open on June 21 and will be set out in accordance with ALDI Australia’s recently introduced layout for its new shops, including expanded wooden produce bays, energy efficient LED lighting and point of sale displays.

The first stage of Pacific Werribee’s latest expansion began in March 2014.

During its redevelopment, Pacific Werribee has increased in size by more than a third, from 72,000 square metres to 110,000 square metres.
