A Wyndham Vale-based group will support a Samoan shelter for children affected by domestic violence through a concert alive with Pacific sights and sounds.
The “Voice for the Voiceless Concert” will be presented by the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) Melbourne on May 20.
Group director Toilolo Talosaga Taulapapa said the concert would raise funds for a project run by the SVSG Samoa in the Samoan village of Tuanaimato.
“Everyone in the community is welcome to come and support and be part of this great cause,” he said.
He said the SVSG Tuanaimato shelter helped children who suffered from abuse or neglect.
Mr Taulapapa said the SVSG groups would like to construct a separate building at the same site for children with disabilities and mental illnesses who had also suffered from abuse.
The “Voice for the Voiceless Concert”, a strictly no-alcohol event, will be held at the Werribee Baptist Church auditorium on Saturday.
Doors will open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Tickets cost $30 per person or $100 for family tickets (two adults and two children 14 and under); children under 5 are admitted free.
