Tarneit teen charged over bus assault

A 16-year-old Tarneit boy has been charged with attempted robbery and assault-related offences in relation to an alleged attack on an autistic teenager at the weekend.

He has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrate’s Court at a later date.

It is alleged the 17-year-old victim was on a bus travelling on Derrimut Road when the assault occurred.

Police said they are still searching for a second offender in relation to the attempted robbery.
