Family of missing pet dog seek community help

Have you seen Teddy?

The chocolate-coloured miniature dachshund went missing from a family home in Point Cook and the owners are desperate to be reunited with their friend.

Owner Corina Smith attended a friend’s funeral on January 30 and when she returned home about 1.30pm, she realised Teddy was not at their Ladybird Crescent home.

“I went through a tough separation two years ago, and the little man kept nudging me to keep going … they are brilliant at knowing when something’s not right. Teddy didn’t leave my side, he got me through.

“My son has autism and Teddy slept with him every night. He hasn’t been the same since Teddy went missing. He’s more than just a pet; he’s a part of our family and we want him back.”

When Corina’s mother died, she left a sum of money that her daughter used to buy a camera to follow her dreams of becoming a photographer.

She now plans to pawn that camera in order to fund a $2000 reward for anyone who returns Teddy.

Ms Smith launched a Facebook page calling for help in finding Teddy. Since its launch, the page has been followed by 1100 people, and posts have been reached by more than 300,000 Facebook users.

She says she’s overwhelmed by the community’s support and hopes the dog will be returned.

“If anybody knows anything, please let us know.

“We won’t ask any questions; we won’t tell anybody. Just bring him home to us.”

Contact Ms Smith on 0404 514 427.
