Wyndham firefighters scored some red-hot recognition last week from Our Lady of the Southern Cross students.
Students across all year levels wore red to recognise the efforts of their local firefighting heroes for National Red Balloon Day and made gold coin donations to take home red “Thank You Fireys” balloons to publicly display their gratitude.
Senior students also created a thank-you banner that was presented to Country Fire Authority officers from Wyndham Vale.
National Red Balloon Day calls on all Australians to show their appreciation for firefighters by flying a red balloon from their letterbox, fence or business window.
The school will donate its takings to the national Red Balloon Day organisation.
