Police appeal for help following attempted theft

Police are on the hunt for a man they believe can assist with their investigations following an attempted theft in Hoppers Crossing yesterday. 
A man fled a a grocery store at Hoppers Crossing shopping centre just after noon on Monday, after taking groceries values at approximately $400 from the store. 
As he was pushing the trolley through the centre, police approached him and he pushed the trolley aside and ran from the centre via the Heaths Road exit. 
The man, pictured, is perceived to be aged in his 30s, of caucasian appearance, 180 cm tall and has a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.
