April 23, 1980

Two people were injured when two cars collided on the Princes Highway last Saturday about 7pm. The cars were extensively damaged, with the driver of one and the passenger of the other being admitted to hospital.

April 25, 1990

The bugle sounded its solemn and lonely cry over a silent Werribee township last Sunday afternoon when over 300 local residents, both young and old, gathered to commemorate Anzac Day. Organised by the Werribee RSL, the service commenced with a march from Chirnside Park to Kelly Park, led by veterans from World War I and II.

April 26, 2000

Residents adjacent to Werribee Racecourse are living in fear of drunken partygoers making trouble as they leave functions early in the morning. Consistent problems of noise, dangerous driving and drunken behaviour associated with people leaving functions at the racecourse culminated last Saturday week in a brawl between residents and partygoers, in which a female resident was allegedly assaulted.

A Wyndham Vale school could be forced to give up a large part of its land to allow for the $4.3 billion Regional Rail Link. St Andrew’s parish priest Father Frank Buhagiar has called on the state government to clarify its position as soon as possible, with the proposed route for the project to take nearly an acre of property at the front of Our Lady of the Southern Cross Catholic Primary School.
