Children’s Week Picnic a massive success

Sports, crafts, music and dance were all part of the fun as crowds flocked to Werribee Park at the weekend for this year’s Children’s Week Picnic.

About 4000 people turned out on Sunday for the annual get-together.

Wyndham council’s city life director, Jenny McMahon, said the day was a success, overall.

“The rain managed to stay away,” Ms McMahon said.

“And the sun even made an appearance over the weekend.

“With live entertainment, roving performers, a silent disco and Little Red Train rides around the grounds of Werribee Park, the event was once again a huge success,” she said.

Other attractions of the picnic were bungee trampolines, roving performers and face painting.

One popular workshop had children creating light-based animations using glowsticks, torches and LED lights.
