Werribee Cricket Club junior clinic features two big names from women’s cricket

Two of the biggest names in women’s cricket will lead a clinic for keen young players during the school holidays.

Molly Strano from the Melbourne Renegades and Jessica Cameron from the Melbourne Stars will join Werribee Cricket Club coaches at the clinic this weekend in helping cricketers aged between seven and 12 hone their skills.

Cameron urged girls to join in.

“If you want to play cricket, listen to yourself and ignore anyone who says you can’t play,” she said.

Werribee Cricket Club’s Ivo Havard said several girls attended last year’s version of the event, but there weren’t enough to form a team afterwards. Havard hopes more females will join in this year so a team can be formed.

The clinic, supported by developers Dacland, will be held on Sunday, September 25, from 10am-noon at Soldiers Reserve in Werribee.
