Werribee Shire Council is concerned at Sunshine City Council’s suggestions regarding relocation of Newmarket Saleyards in the Laverton North area. Werribee Park is to get a $5 million hotel and conference centre. The Minister for Conservation and Land Management, Ms Marie Tehan, will call for private sector investment when she launches the project, Vision for Werribee Park tomorrow. The development is expected to involve revamping the St Joseph’s wing, built by the Roman Catholic Church as a seminary between 1925 and 1928.
