Support Heathglen Retirement Village at its May Fete on May 16, at 70/2 Glendale Court, Werribee, from 10am-2pm. There will be stalls selling plants and cakes, devonshire teas and raffle tickets, as well as a sausage sizzle.

Art exhibition

The Wyndham Art Prize is on at Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, from May 14-28. The exhibition showcases local, national and international artists and will be judged by McClelland Galleries senior curator Penny Teale.

Fix it, for free

If it needs to be screwed, glued, nailed or welded, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday of the month. It’s free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit in a car, call James, Wyndham Park Community Centre, 55-57 Kookaburra Avenue, Werribee 10am-noon.

Meet the neighbours

Get to know your neighbours during a morning tea at The Grange Community Centre, 60-280 Hogans Road, Hoppers Crossing, on May 11, from 11.30am-1pm. The event is a chance for people to share stories of how they came to live in Wyndham.

Managing director of a drama production company, Ian Crawford, will be the guest speaker at Werribee Rotary Club’s meeting on May 12. Crawford will provide insight into what goes on backstage and the ins and outs of television.
