Hard work has paid off for Heathdale Christian College student Grace Ashwin.
Last week, the year 12 student was one of 279 top graduates from across Victoria to receive a Premier’s VCE award
Grace completed units three and four of sport and recreation and physical education last year while in year 11, scoring 50 in sport and recreation.
She was one of only two students to obtain a perfect score in sport and recreation, a subject taken by 1800 students last year.
Grace said the award had given her something to aspire to this year.
“It will be motivating me to work my hardest this year and give myself the best chance,”
she said. “Hopefully, I can build on the
momentum. But I know it will be harder
this year doing four year 12 subjects.” Grace, who is studying English, biology, health and human development and further mathematics, hopes to continue in the allied health field at university.
Teacher Jim Graham said Grace’s award was a huge achievement.
Grace is the seventh Heathdale Christian College student to receive a Premier’s award for sport and recreation since 2009.
