Weekend storms didn’t stop runners and walkers of all ages from taking part in a Reclink Community Champions Run on Sunday morning.
“It was a real success,” Reclink founder Peter Cullen said about the fundraiser.

“It was a really good atmosphere, something we will continue to work on going forward.”

He said about $6000 was raised through online and on-the-day donations, which would go towards creating sport and recreation opportunities for people “at a low place in their life, with a complex disadvantage”.
“Some people had never used that track, and were talking about how amazing it is to run along the Werribee River,” he said.
Reclink began 25 years ago as a kick-to-kick program and now involves 10,000 people living with disadvantage.
Its numerous programs involve football, cricket and street soccer teams, yoga classes, tenpin bowling, fishing and golf.
