The well respected Michael Sodomaco will captain the Werribee Tigers for a second VFL season.
Ben Speight and Scott Sherlock will be his vice captains, while 2015 best-and-fairest Matt Hanson and Jake Sharp will complete a five-man leadership group.
Tigers coach John Lamont praised the leadership across the board at the Tigers.
“While these guys have the official titles and they thoroughly deserve that, we have a very strong level of leadership right through the squad that embraces our objectives and values on and off the field,” he said.
“I think we have a really good mix of emerging young leaders and experienced campaigners.
“You have Michael in his sixth year at the club, Scott Sherlock his seventh season and Ben Speight after five years on North’s list is now in his eighth season at Avalon Airport Oval.
“Jake Sharp is in his third year and Matt Hanson, who was involved in leadership groups in Tasmania, is the rookie heading into his second year.”
Werribee will play its second practice match against Coburg at Highgate Recreation Reserve in Craigieburn on Saturday with the development squad starting at 11am and the seniors following at 2pm.
