Children at a Point Cook childcare centre got their hands dirty last week by helping to make their surrounds tidier.
The Future Kids Saltwater Child Care and Kindergarten children spent Friday morning cleaning up a park across the road, and the centre itself, for Clean Up Australia Day.
Pre-kinder room leader Kelly Fraser said it was important to teach children the importance of respecting the environment.
“We’re really into sustainability here, and reusing items,” she said. “Hopefully, as they grow older they can pass that knowledge and education on to other people.”
Other Wyndham residents also got in on the act at the weekend, pulling on cleaning gloves to tidy up one of 24 registered sites across the city for Clean Up Australia Day.
