A WYNDHAM Vale retirement home has been a hive of activity with residents working hard on a massive crochet coral reef art installation.
UnitingCare residents Gladys Bourke, Margaret Perry and Tricia Appleby (pictured with personal carer Sita Guawali and lifestyle co-ordinator Angela Taylor) were among 30 people, as well as families and staff, who worked with yarn, thread and crochet hooks for the past nine months. Ms Taylor said residents were beaming with pride.
“So many got involved, some with dementia, some who haven’t crocheted for 20 years, some who have never crocheted in their life. It created so much fun and laughter . . . we’ll have to do something else, like a Christmas tree, now.”
