A WERRIBEE South vegetable farmer has been placed on a good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to tampering with a water meter.
The farmer appeared at Werribee Magistrates Court last Tuesday to answer to a charge of interfering with property belonging to Southern Rural Water.
The court heard that Southern Rural Water field officers noticed an object stuck in the meter for his groundwater bore to under-record the amount of water being used.
The farmer pleaded guilty and was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
He was also ordered to contribute $500 to the Werribee CFA, and to pay costs of $1500 to Southern Rural Water.
