Call for witnesses

An elderly man died in hospital after his car struck a tree at Werribee South last week. The 75-year-old Norlane man was travelling south on Diggers Road when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road about 4.40am last Thursday. The car hit a tree and part of it came to rest in an irrigation channel of waist-deep water. CFA crews took half an hour to free the man from the car. He suffered head and chest injuries and was airlifted in a critical condition to The Alfred hospital, where he died early the next morning. Factory fire investigated

The owners of a Hoppers Crossing factory face a $100,000 damage bill after fire tore through the Industrial Avenue factory last Wednesday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rainbow flags to fly proudly

Man charged after fatal crash

Major collision investigation unit detectives have charged a 27-year-old Taylors Lakes man with culpable driving following a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Williamstown girl at Laverton North last year.
