Youngsters interested in playing football have been invited to join the Manor Lakes Football Club.
Junior president Troy Whiting and vice president Aaron Mahon said the club has a growing junior membership, with a popular Auskick program and five juniors teams.
“Our u-12’s won the club’s first junior premiership last year, we also had a WRFL Best and Fairest in our u-12’s,” Mr Mahon said.
“We are all about the juniors, the kids love the friendships and the enjoyment of playing the game.”
The club’s age groups are under-9s, under-10s, under-12s, under-14 boys and under-14 girls.
The two under-14s teams were added this year.
“We ran a very popular summer program before Christmas with a number of girls asking about playing, so the club was more than happy to get a team together,” Mr Mahon said.
“Our u-14 boys have been a real focus as we had a few kids coming up from u-12’s, so club didn’t want to lose them and they didn’t want to leave.”
Mr Mahon said the family-based club looked after its juniors, with fees of $180 and
numerous events for the young players throughout the year.
“The club is currently looking for players in all age groups, as well as some generous sponsors to help with our junior program,” he said.
