The Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance joint venture has officially opened its new national distribution centre in Truganina.

The shared parts and accessories warehouse is a global first for the alliance between the three international vehicle manufacturers.

The warehouse, located on Archer Road in the West Park Industrial Estate, was officially launched at an opening ceremony last week.

The site, to be managed by CEVA Logistics, will become the new master warehouse for Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi national distribution network and will also service the Infiniti brand. The facility, which is set to become fully operational this month, will operate 24 hours a day and employ more than 90 staff.

Alliance global after sales senior vice-president Kent O’Hara said the warehouse opening was a “significant milestone”.

The warehouse, which is more than 37,000 square metres in size, will receive more than 2500 vehicle parts a day. The distribution centre will manage 11 in-bound sea containers daily, as well as air freight and other local shipments.

The warehouse has space for approximately 100,000 parts and accessories.

It also incorporates processes for the fast movement of automotive parts and accessories, including a dedicated area for the storage of hazardous liquids such as oils, transmission and brake fluids, and 10 container docks to allow for high-volume in-bound and out-bound shipments.

The warehouse is one of the first six-star Green Star-accredited buildings in Australia, with a roof-mounted solar system to provide renewable energy, high bay LED lighting with daylight and motion sensors, early suppression fast-response sprinkler systems and a rain
water system for bathrooms and garden irrigation.
