A 16-year-old from St Albans was also charged with aggravated affray and an 18-year-old Victorian man was charged with aggravated affray and travelling under a false name.

A 17-year-old Meadow Heights teen has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly stabbed in Adelaide’s CBD on Monday, April 25.

The incident occurred about 2am, with police called to the intersection of North Terrace and George Street.

Police said the 25-year-old victim died shortly after officers arrived at the scene.

The young boy from Melbourne’s north was also charged with aggravated affray and travelling under a false name.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Tuesday, April 26.

South Australia Police Assistant Commissioner John Venditto said: “We understand there was a series of skirmishes and confrontations between groups of men in the CBD.

“The working theory at the moment is this an incident between two groups who know each other.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
