Werribee Giants Baseball club will host a Big Freeze event this Sunday, May 29, to raise funds for people diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Attending participants can pick up a sausage from the BBQ, purchase an item from the raffle and cheer on the women’s baseball team as they compete in four games throughout the day.

Werribee Giants publicity officer Peter Rose says the cause is close to many people’s hearts.

“It’s the sort of the thing that’s affected a number of people across the community,” he said.

Mr Rose encourages residents to visit Presidents Park in Wyndham Vale from 10:30am on the day and show their support.

“I’m really keen for two things to happen, one is for people to come down and be part of the Big Freeze, but also more broadly, really hoping that people come down and watch the women’s baseball,” he said.

People who can’t attend, but are still interested in contributing can donate via the fundraiser link.
