Two arrested after alleged Truganina carjacking

Police have arrested two people following an alleged carjacking in Truganina last week.

Investigators were told the victim, a 49-year-old Lara man, stopped to assist the offenders after they crashed their vehicle in Tilwinda Place around 12.45am on July 25.

Police said that when the man got out of his vehicle, he was allegedly set upon by the offenders.

The man was allegedly knocked unconscious and fell to the ground, as the offenders continued to assault him.

The offenders then allegedly stole the man’s Hyundai Accent hatchback.

A 24-year-old man from Sunshine has been arrested and charged with aggravated carjacking and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on tomorrow.

A 23-year-old Lynbrook woman has also been arrested and charged with aggravated carjacking and obtain property by deception. She was remanded at court today.
