Truganina lots very hot

New Wyndham housing lots are in high demand, with 16 families camping out overnight recently to get their hands on one of the new blocks released in Truganina.

People started queueing for one of the 30 lots available at the new Ellarook estate from 4pm on the Friday before the following day’s February 25 release.

Raghubar Singh Sidhu was first in line with his family to get prime pickings.

The 35-year-old Tarneit resident, who waited with his wife and two children, said he wanted to build his first home on the lot.

“We know the area well and Ellarook is the right place to go forward for us as a family,” Mr Sidhu said.

“I can’t wait to build a double-storey home exactly how I wish it to be.”

The Ellarook estate, which is being developed by Intrapac Property, runs off Woods Road in Truganina and backs on to Skeleton Creek.

Twenty-one of the 30 lots available were sold in less than three hours following the launch, with 28 lots in total sold during launch weekend. Another 500 lots will be released in stages.

Intrapac Property chief executive Maxwell Shifman said the new estate was in a prime location for young families.

“Ellarook is just about the closest greenfield land estate to the Melbourne CBD – adjacent to a planned new train station, sporting fields, and just up the road from a new town centre,” Mr Shifman said.

Truganina properties have enjoyed good recent price growth, with median house price data for the December, 2016, quarter showing Truganina house prices went up 6.8 per cent to $473,000 in three months.
