Werribee is getting its very own ladies’ day.

The Wyndham Business and Tourism Association will kick off racing season at Werribee Racecourse later this month with a ladies’ day luncheon and race meeting.

The eight-race meeting will include a two-course lunch in the members’ dining room, fashions on the field competitions for both ladies and gents, and raffles.

Organiser Tonia Tribe said the day would be Werribee’s answer to Oaks Day.

“It’s a chance for our local ladies to get all frocked up and not have to go to Flemington or Caulfield,” Ms Tribe said.

“It’s something fun and lovely to do.”

The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 29, from noon at Werribee Racing Club. Tickets cost $79. The event will raise money for the new critical care unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital.
