Teens arrested after burglary, car theft

Police have charged three teenagers following an alleged burglary and car theft at a Manor Lakes gym on Wednesday.

The trio allegedly stole car keys from a Ballan Road gym locker area about 8.30am.

The group allegedly went to steal a car from the nearby carpark, when they were confronted by a passer-by.

One teen allegedly took off in the vehicle and two others fled on foot.

Police located the vehicle on Brightvale Boulevard shortly after and arrested three girls, two 15-year-olds from Tarneit and a 14-year-old from Hoppers Crossing.

All were charged with burglary and theft.

The 14-year-old was bailed, and the two 15-year-olds were remanded, all to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
