Student’s success celebrated

Ms Anand is one of seven students to receive the award for achievements in Health and Human Development.

Suzanne Cory student Nidhi Anand has been recognised by the premier for her academic outstanding achievements.

The premier’s VCE Awards ceremony highlighted the 2021 top performing students on July 20, 2022.

Ms Anand was one of 298 students to receive an award, and last year achieved a study score of 46 or above in Health and Human Development when she completed the subject in year 11.

“I was pleasantly surprised, I didn’t expect it. It was a really great moment…to be recognised for all the effort,” she said.

The 18-year-old is currently in year 12, and credits the assistance of her teachers, peers and parents for helping her get through.

“VCE is of course a very challenging process for everyone, and just to have that support with you really helped me throughout the year,” she said.

“I think it’s just important to do your best and just keep that effort throughout the year and you’ll see results.”

Ms Anand hopes to achieve an ATAR that will enable her to study medicine in the future.
